Modern Pentathlon

Bulgaria’s pentathletes debuted at the Olympics in 1968 in Mexico, when Anton Panyovski, Ivan Apostolov, Georgi Stoyanov and Konstantin Sardzhiev became 12th, which has so far been the best team ranking for Bulgaria.

At the next Games in “Munich ‘72” Georgi Stoyanov ranked first in horse riding, and 16th at the final ranking. Tsanko Hantov is the last Bulgarian pentathlete, who has participated in the Olympic Games. In “Sidney 2000” he became 23rd
